Hazel's Yummy Sugar Cookies

"This is an old recipe that my sister and I use to use when we were little. I think my mother got if from a Country Boy Eddie Cookbook."

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 3⁄4 teaspoon baking powder
• 1⁄2 cup applesauce
• 2 eggs
• 2 1⁄2 cups sifted flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

directions

1. Cream butter and sugar.
2. Add egg, vanilla, baking powder, salt and flour to mixture.
3. Mix everything up well and drop the mixture by teaspoon 2 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
4. Flatten with bottom of glass, dipped in flour.
5. Bake at 400°F for 7 minutes.
