Semi-sweet bread with fruit. Smells heavenly when cooking.
- 118.29 ml mashed banana
- 118.29 ml crushed pineapple, with juice
- 59.14 ml egg substitute
- 59.14 ml milk
- 59.14 ml margarine, softened
- 4.92 ml coconut extract
- 78.07 ml white sugar
- 118.29 ml instant potato flakes
- 709.77 ml bread flour
- 7.39 ml active dry yeast
- Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Light setting; press Start.
I made this bread a few days ago and it's GONE. My wife forbids me to make it for at least another couple of weeks because she said it would be the only thing she'd eat. VERY good bread! The only thing different that I did was that I used almond extract. I didn't have coconut extract.
This recipe makes a nice tall, subtle tasting, dense, semi sweet bread. It was quick and easy to make. Smells great while baking and tastes even better. We really enjoyed this served as french toast, it was delish, it really held the egg well and fluffed up great. I bet it would be great in bread pudding. Thanks for posting this treat.
A nice dense bread that has a mild sweet flavor. I think this would be great for french toast, toasted with morning coffee, or as a grilled sandwich with ham. Didnt have coconut extract so I added about one tablespoon of shredded coconut and used one medium banana. The yeast packet I didnt use all of, just measured the 1 1/2 teaspoons and threw the rest of the packet away. DH came home and said that something really smelled good. Thank you MsSally! UPDATE: I took some bread over to my parents and will be making another loaf for them, they loved it so I have to go with 5 stars!
