Harvest Apple Salsa with Cinnamon Chips

  • For the Cinnamon Chips-------------.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl (I put this mixture in a spice bottle with holes so I could just sprinkle it on).
  • Brush tortillas with water.
  • Sprinkle sugar mixture evenly over both sides of tortillas.
  • Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges; arrange on baking sheet.
  • Bake 5- 7 minutes or until golden brown/crisp.
  • Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
  • For the Harvest Apple Salsa-------------.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Add walnuts just before serving as it will turn the mixture brown.
  • Chill overnight to create more juice.

  3. I wanted to add this recipe and found it is already on here. Not surprised. This is a really good recipe. I make as printed and we love it. This recipe is good in the fall and I also serve it in the summer. Here are a few other ways I serve this: #1 Serve alongside grilled chicken; #2 Spoon salsa over softened cream cheese and serve with Ritz Cinnamon Crackers. #3 Place a few chips in a bowl top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and then the salsa. make sure the salsa is at room temp or put in the microwave for a few seconds to take the chill off. (told you I have made this before) Enjoy! And thank you Mirj for posting.
     
  4. This was very good. I suggest serving the chips crumbled over the top of the salsa. Much easier to eat that way.
     
  5. This was very good. However, leaving the mixture in the fridg over night turned the apples slightly brownish. I was afraid it would. But the taste was very good, even though I forgot the walnuts. It was difficult to keep the salsa on the chips, though. Loved the chips. I will use parchmant paper next time so that the chips don't stick and clean-up will be easier.
