This is great sauce. Used on frozen bananas today and who knows what else in the future. Thank you!

Amazing flavour! I used a soft margarine as that is what I had on hand & it still hardened up - not quite to the crackle stage but still a nice solid topping.

Perfect! Used this on the banana popsicles for my kids, then on Fruit Salad Fruit Salad. It's so good, this will be made regularly around here! Thanks for posting!

I just made this and it is WONDERFUL! It was so easy, too. It took me less than five minutes prep in the microwave. The perfect summer treat. I will be making this again!

I was looking for something to make a special DGS's treat as they've been sooooo good while I've been babysitting for the last 2 weeks and this was it!! They now think Nanna "ROCKS" in their words. It went together easy and taste much better than Magic Shell - I'll never buy that stuff again when this is so easy. Makes quite a lot, so I can't wait to see how it does when we re-heat it. Thanks Toadflax for posting.

Oh wow!!! I am a Magic Shell junkie, but rarely buy it because it's on the expensive side. Now I can make it myself!!! I thank you for posting this (my skinny jeans do not...)

Mmmm...I could eat this all by itself! I just made it and I am going to drizzle it on the mini-cheesecakes I made for tonight.

Perfect solution for a quick and easy hard shell. I microwaved everything for 1 minute, stirred it all up and it was ready to go. Leftovers are in the fridge ready for another day.

Used this in conjuction with Frozen Banana Popsicles. Used milk chocolate melts, butter and canola oil. The taste testers would give it ten stars if they could. A keeper, thank you Toadflax.

The key is to use a good quality chocolate. I used this for my frozen banana popsicles.

I will drive out of my way to have an ice cream cone with hard shell. I have tried the bottled type and it was ok. This recipe "tops" both of them. I can't believe I can make this at home. I made it in a pan on the stove and put the left overs in a jar in the refrigerator. It heated up easily in the microwave at 15 second intervals. A sweet treat, thanks so much for sharing. :)

Well! If you bake, odds are you have this stuff on hand... stop reading now and go make this wonderfully "magic" stuff! Not only is it super easy to make, but it really does form a wonderful shell! I swear I could eat an entire gallon of ice cream topped with this stuff! Thanks so much for posting your recipe, it is a keeper :)

Perfect for those special treat days. This was so easy to make and will have to give those 'ice cream bars on a stick' a try next time around. While I rarely eat ice cream my taste testers love this as a ice cream topping as do those having been served ice cream topped with this delicious chocolate topping. Thank you for sharing.

Fast and simple...it was pretty close to the real thing. Thanks for a do it yourself version Kitten!

This was great! I used bittersweet chocolate instead and that worked out well. Thanks!

It really works! It's just like the Magic Shell from the store but a lot cheaper. I am eager to find out if it also hardens with other flavored chips. With all the flavors available nowadays, the possibilities are endless. The only thing the recipe doesn't say is how to store it. If in the fridge (because of the butter), it will most likely have to be heated up again. Great recipe and a snap to whip up.
