- 453.59 g ground beef
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 236.59 ml sour cream
- 14.79 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 113.39 g can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 0.25 ml garlic salt
- 473.18 ml wide egg noodles
directions
- Brown ground beef.
- Add salt and pepper to taste and chopped onion.
- Next, add dry onion soup mix, 1/2-1 cup water.
- Stir in sour cream and sauce.
- Stir in chopped mushroom.
- Add salt, garlic salt and pepper to desired taste.
- Simmer for about 1/2 hour.
- Serve over 2 cups cooked and drained wide egg noodles.
- Serves approximately 5-6.

I wanted a recipe without the proverbial cream of mushroom soup and this one fit the bill. The only change I made was to use a cup of beef broth instead of water. I think that extra flavor really brought it all together. I also added about a teaspoon of cracked black pepper. Very easy to make and on the table in less than an hour. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was okay. I would not add any salt as the onion soup mix and the w-sauce have plenty and it seemed a bit too salty (and I even used garlic powder instead of garlic salt). I also eliminated the extra onions and I'm glad I did because there's enough in the soup mix. The family all thought this was just okay.
