Mom use to make this when I was a kid & now I make it for my own children. The only difference is that we add 1 tablespoon of butter to the milk.

I grew up on this. We also had it on cornbread instead of toast. My dad said in the army they called it SOS.

This is a hands down favorite! I would like to add a tip I have used for years, drain the beef, stir in the flour into the drained beef to coat, then add milk and salt and pepper and heat until simmering and stir. It seems to take less time for the gravy, I don't have to worry about lumps, I do this for tuna gravy also. But this is a great dinner, even over mashed potatoes!

This was a hit with my 5 1/2 year old. I added some garlic powder and some minced onion but other than that it is perfect. Very quick to make and hearty. Great on a cold rainy night. Thanks!

This is good ole' comfort food. I grew up on this. Mom always used it to use up leftover ground beef patties in the morning. My hubby loves it too. You can do the same thing with tuna and it's good too.

My adoptive Lakota mom taught me how to make this. She always added onions while frying up the hamburger, used a can of evaporated milk and then made a slurry with water and flour... Lawry's was a favorite seasoning but it's a pretty versatile recipe... :)
