This was so much fun to make!! Very pretty and tasted very good, too!! I doubled the whole recipe except for the oil, used 1 tsp. minced garlic, one 8oz. pkg. sliced fresh mushrooms, and then added one can (drained) green beans. It didn't want to thicken quite enough, so I mixed another Tbl. cornstarch with another Tbl. cold water, and then it did just fine. I baked this in my deep cast iron skillet and it was perfectly done in the time specified. The "biscuits" on top were heavenly!! :) Perfectly done, and not soggy! :) Next time I make this, I might add just a little worcestershire sauce for extra flavor, but it was still very good just as is! Thanks for a wonderful and fun recipe to make!! Made for the Spring PAC 2009 game. :)

Nice, quick, & easy. I added sweetcorn and chopped carrots to this instead of mushrooms, and added some italian herbs to the topping. Deffinately something to keep in my 'every day' cookbook. Thanks for posting this.

We all loved this. I used a full pound of hamburg to feed our family of four, and I had to substitute one can of mushrooms since I didn't have fresh, and chicken broth instead of beef broth [same reason]. It was easy to make, and I'll definitely make it again...a double batch, since everyone wanted seconds !

This is simply biscuits and gravy. Daughter liked the gravy part, husband liked it all. I do not care for biscuits and gravy so it's not my cup of tea. I added thyme, bay leaf and wortchester sauce to the gravy to spice it up. I will not make this again. thanks for posting.

This was a simple and tasty dinner. I left out the mushrooms because my husband is allergic, and I used flour instead of cornstarch. Turned out great and the whole family enjoyed it. Thanks for the recipe!
