This is a simple casserole. It does require sitting overnight to absorb the egg mixture but that makes for a quick breakfast the next morning. I'm sure you could add many extras in this, feel free to do so. Also, the prep or cook time does not include overnight refrigeration.

  1. Trim crusts from the bread.
  2. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
  3. Butter 8 slices bread.
  4. Place buttered side up in pan.
  5. Place ham slices on bread.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Butter other 8 slices bread.
  8. Put in pan butter side up.
  9. Beat eggs with milk, salt, and dry mustard.
  10. Pour over the bread and ham slices.
  11. Refrigerate overnight.
  12. Before baking, add crushed cornflakes to the top.
  13. Pour the melted butter on top.
  14. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
