This surprised me. I wasn't expecting much from the recipe but I had to find a new way to fix up that Easter ham. We all really enjoyed this. Thank you!
This is almost exactly how I make my ham barbecues so I'm rating and saving this recipe (eventually for a cookbook for my daughters). I don't do the garlic & onions but that sounds like a great addition! Here in Pittsburgh, we use "chipped ham," popularized by a former locally famous deli called Isaly's.
These were good and easy to make. I cut the recipe in half but followed the recipe as written. My family enjoyed these and it was made with ingredients I had on hand. Thanks Parsley
Easy to prepare. My daughter and husband really liked these sandwiches. I also used leftover holiday ham in these, which worked well. I personally found the sauce far too sweet for my tastes, but my family felt it was just right. Like a sweet, tangy sloppy joe, only with ham.
This was so easy and delicious! I made this in the morning using leftover spiral cut ham. I took your suggestion and put it in the crock pot to serve for lunch. The family really enjoyed it. This type of ham sandwich is served in the diners and bars of Central New York State where I grew up. I've never made it at home but will now that I have your recipe. Thanks!!
What an easy way to serve barbequed ham. It is a sweet tangy flavor that would be good on chicken too I think. I served for lunch today on squaw bread buns.
