German Dish, Ham and Eggs. Came from a friend of mine who is German.
- Melt the butter.
- fry the ham in butter real quick on both sides.
- open the eggs directly into the pan over the ham.
- salt slightly.
- cover the pan with and let the eggs sit until they are the desired consistency.
Easy! Great little recipe.
What a simple yet delicious idea. I made it with hasbrowns & toast for a "breakfast dinner" and it hit the spot!
I make this all the time..never even gave it a thought as a recipe. In Germany, Bavaria, and the German towns thruout Europe this dish is extremely popular in the morning (or sometimes we even made it for a Sunday evening meal) with homemade crusty bread. I love this for breakfast much better than bacon.Yummy!
