these were deviiiiiine!!! we have a little british boutique that sells adorable half-pint glasses. i have been looking for a fun desert, and this was perfect. i was a bit concerned when i first put the dark chocolate in to set that it would be too thin, but it was absolutely wonderful!!
Delicious! Half of my tatse testers could tast guinness, half could not. Tasted like dark chocolate to me. Either way, absolutely yummy! I had my second helping a week later and it was still very good. I am making it again trying more guinness next time. Or I might just pour a tablespoon or two of guinness right on top to finish it off.
This dessert is extremely rich and delicious. I could really taste the Guinness in the black chocolate mousse, but my husband couldn't. He thought it just tasted like good dark chocolate. I prepared it in beer glasses, and it looked so cool with the white chocolate "foam." The consistency was perfect. It was easy enough to make, though it did take a while with all the mixing and melting. Overall, I thought it was well worth the effort and it was an impressive dessert.
Most definitely a chocolate lover's delight! This is extremely rich. I made this tonight for a trial run for next week's St Patty's Day festivities, and next week when I prepare it I will double the white chocolate mousse recipe and divide the black chocolate mousse into 16 smaller servings instead of just 8. For me, the portion size was too large because of the richness. This received extremely high marks from my "guinea pigs" ! Yum!
Wow, this is rich! Never finished it off with the white mousse. Just left it with the dark chocolate. In all honesty, I was hoping for a stronger Guiness taste to it. It's a great mousse; but if your looking at this recipe due to the Guiness...save yourself the time and just sit down and drink it in a glass!
