Excellent! The seasonings are spot-on. The addition of oatmeal (though I initially felt hesitant about adding it in) was genius. It created the perfect gyro meat texture. Who needs lamb?!

I did use a pinch of cinnamon, as I had no allspice on-hand.

I will be making this again & again. Thanks for sharing!

This past month I've pulled out the memory of having made this and dust it off every so often because it always makes me happy...AND hungry.

Loved by all. I made the tsatsiki sauce extra garlicky and extra cucumbery. The sauce made it awesome.

Loved this tonight for dinner. I followed everything except used wheat bran instead of oats to save carbs. The fam had this in pitas with yogurt dill sauce, feta, tomato, lettuce and onion. I had mine as a salad and it was very tasty. Not over seasoned like I worried it might be. Nice balance of seasoning. Thanks for sharing.

Wow great flavor in these gyros! I used a bit of cinnamon instead of the allspice, otherwise made as directed. I did broil the slices a bit before serving and I thought that was a great idea. Served on pitas with tzatziki and chopped tomatoes for a great easy meal - thanks for sharing the recipe!

This is great - served on thin buns - a great change. I skipped the paprika and the cumin (out of) and didn't sub any other spices for the missing spices. Great meatloaf/gyro. Served with a tossed salad and chips for a good and easy dinner. Thanks for sharing!

I've made this twice now and I've yet to be disappointed! The serving size is a large one. You could get 6 gyros out of one recipe. I double the recipe for my family of 6-some of us eat more than one gyro. I've also tripled it. It fits into a 9 x13-it fills the whole pan. I cut the "cake" in half lengthwise and then slice it thin. We eat it with tzatziki made from greek yogurt, tomatoes, cucumber and onions. Super easy to make ahead, its just like meat loaf. This one is a keeper!

This is an interesting recipe and a really neat idea! Very fast to make as well. I made the dish as written and the flavour is really good. It will make for an excellent school lunch for the kids today in a pita with some cucumber, tomatoes, tzatziki and onion.
