Wonderful blend of sweet and sour. All of the ingredients, except the spices, were raised on our place..
- 5 -7 lbs pork roast
- 2 (14 ounce) cans sauerkraut
- 2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons caraway seeds
- Combine sauerkraut and apple pie filling in crock pot. Place roast in crock pot and ladle sauerkraut over roast. Sprinkle with caraway seed. Cook on high for 6 hours. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook for 2-3 hours.
This was a lovely dish. My dh really enjoyed this savory, spicy pork dish. The apples complimented the pork and the saurerkraut perfectly, while the caraway seeds complimented everything. The pork was prepared and cooked exactly as written for moist, tender pork, that was flavorful. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Made for Fall Pac 2012.
