This was great. I like it better this way rather then sausage. I did add fennel seeds, because we like the flavor. For the dough I tried a new recipe, The World's Best Bread Machine Pizza Dough Recipe, 131607. I highly recommend this also.

Yep just as good as I remember! When my son was little he used to look forward to paydays as he knew I would make hamburger pizza and rent a video as a special payday treat. So this tasty treat brings back very many happy memories. Made this as written. Thanks so much for the post.

Boomie - you have a definite winner of a recipe here! My family gets tired of the same ol' toppings on their pizza and this recipe won them over tonight! I did find that I needed more sauce and cheese than called for in the recipe but that is more of a preference of the family than anything to blame on this recipe! Fabulous - the spices and garlic really helped make this extra special! Tagged in the Went to the Market Tag Game!

Boomette, thanks for posting. A great basic pizza. I didn't think I's like ground beef on pizza ever so I don't order it out but now after making it at home I really found it enjoyable. The kids loved the flavor and I agree with breezermom it is super for those not wanting too much spice. The mixture of the cheeses and the onions and oregano make this pizza flavorful yet palatable for all. Don't worry the garlic wasn't too much. HINT: don't load toppings in the middle too much or a hole forms. Also the longer you let it rest the more stay together it is. Paired with Caesar salad and fruit salad and we had pizza night in. Great fun. Made for everyday is a holiday June 2010. Enjoy! ChefDLH

Very good pizza.....plain but pleasing for more sensitive palates. I'd like to use a mix of ground beef and italian sausage next time. This is a great pizza for kids...nothing to upset their tummies! Thanks for sharing.

Reminded hubby and me of pizza we used to have in Spain. I think next time I will soften the onions more.

Yum! I used a package crust mix (which surprisingly turned out decently) and pressed it pretty thin. Used Morningstar Farms crumbles instead of beef, added some olive oil and left out the onions. Put some cheese on top of the sauce before the burger. Also topped with some green olives. Bakes quickly, less than ten minutes on 500.

I make homemade pizza dough, and topped with the cooked beef, left out some of the garlic, and topped with both cheese mixtures, I enjoyed this very much plain and simple,

This was quick and easy to whip together. I put half of the cheese mixture over the sauce and the other half over the ground beef. I think next time I am going to add some green peppers or banana peppers and some black olives. Made for December, 2008 Aussie/NZ Bevy Tag.

This was so easy and delicious. I added some green peppers, green olives and pepperoni to the pizza because DH likes those items. If you love thick crust this is great. For our tastes I think I'll use about half the pizza dough next time and make a thinner crust. I did bake it at 500F and the pizza came out just right. Made for the November Beverage Tag.

Made this for Saturday lunch for DS and DD. They both gave it two thumbs up and came back for seconds and I also loved the combination. I followed as written but used all mozzarella cheese and backed at 400 degrees. Thanks for sharing. Made for zaar stars tag.

Really good pizza! Tasted a lot like a cheeseburger! I was worried about the temp being 500F so I reduced it to 425F and had great results. I used my dough recipe Basic Pizza Dough- Use Now or Use Later! OAMC Too! for this and it was perfect. Cooked on a pizza stone for the best crust! Use Pizza Sauce.... Spoon Lickin' Good! for the sauce... mmm!

Happy and full after making a meal of two of these for the family. I won't say that this will be a contender for my favorite kind of pizza but it is the best of its type that I have had. Nothing wrong with changing it up sometimes. Mom would tell you about how this was the first and only pizza you could eat in her little Midwestern town for many years. Pizza is pizza which is still good eats! (and we still have all that ground beef in the freezer) I called it Hamburger Pizza for the sake of getting them excited about it. (worked!) I used Pizza Sauce.... Spoon Lickin' Good! for my sauce. Added a little basil and baked my crust five minutes before topping....decreasing the bake time to 7-8 minutes. Thanks very much!

This was a great little change-up from my usual pizza topping. Followed your recipe exact and didn't add any other embelishments or toppings. Tagged for 123 HitWonders!! Thanks France for the idea~
