The flavors were wonderful. I used italian seasoning rather than oregano, but otherwise made it exactly as written. The only problem I had was that the sauce, which I made up early in the day and left in the fridge, was much too runny.
Really good, next time I will increase the cucumber in the sauce and decrease the onion. It was tasty and since I am not eating bread I made mine into a salad, my husband loved his pita and thought this was a fast easy option. I will make it again for sure. Thanks Cyrene.
Delicous and easy! I also use Morning Star Farms burgers seasoned with Greek spices in place of the meat when in a time crunch. We have this dish at least once a month. It's such a healthy all in one meal. Thanks!
Really good, quick weeknight meal. My entire family loved it! Served it with trader joes tzatziki and greek pita. Greek salad on the side, great dinner.
I was excited to make this but they turned out just "meh" I think mine would have been improved if: I had used a higher fat content meat and/or maybe tossed some chopped onion in the patties. Also I used whole wheat pitas and that was a bad choice. It contributed to the dryness. The sauce was excellent, however it didn't compensate for an overall dry dining experience
Didn't like it all! Sorry
Pretty good, but I didn't get the real gyro taste. Will try again.
WE LUV Gyro's, so I made these for supper tonite & they were pretty tasty!. I thought the sauce was a bit weak tasting from what I'm used to at the local Greek restaurant, so I doubled the cucumber, added a tsp. of kosher salt & a few herbs...PERFECT!!! The wife isn't crazy about anything "turkey" & I couldn't find any ground lamb, so I used ground beef. I've never had lettuce on a Gyro, so I omitted that. Other than that, 4 STARS & will DEFFO make again, but with ground lamb....I hope. THANKS for sharing!!!
Wonderful, just wonderful!! My entire family loved this, even my dd.
