Simple, homey and good. I made this using plain tomato soup. It reminds my of something my mom used to make, but she added celery and green pepper. I thought it needed just a little pick-up, so I added garlic and a little Worcestershire sauce. Yes, I served it over creamy mashed potatoes and everyone was very happy. I'll make this easy meal again..... with my mentioned additions. Thanx!

This was quick and easy which was just what I was looking for. I did add garlic, which I think was a great addition for the flavor. I served it with corn, and can imagine it would be even better served on mashed potatoes. I only wish my grocery store had lower sodium tomatoe rice soup... I may have to experiment with regular rice and tomato sauce and spices.

Easy recipe for a quick and tasty lunch. I've never used tomato rice soup before and found that I love it! I served it over more rice and added a sprinkle of marjoram while it cooked. It was yummy! Thanks for posting Gayla. Made for PAC Spring 2010.

Makes for a quick meal in a hurry and one I call comfort food too! Most of my comfort food recipes call for tomato soup, the tomato rice is an added touch and one I will now think to for casseroles. Served with a green salad and crusty rolls made for our evening meal on one of those cool rainy summer days we had awhile back.Thank you Laffer.

Sorry Laffer, We just made this and felt it quite bland. We think more spices and some freshly chopped veggies like celery, water chestnuts, and garlic would make it tastier. With those changes, we feel it would be all that you say it is. Final note, Yes, simplicity is a great part of this, we wanted something different for lunch, and it was quick and easy.
