This is an excellent basic panini recipe. I also used a little dijon mustard with the mayo, and spread a little bit of soft butter on the outside of the sandwiches before putting them on my Wolfgang Puck panini maker. They were perfectly cooked, and had beautiful grill marks on both sides after 5 minutes. The outside was crispy and the sandwich interior soft, juicy and delicious. March 04 review UPDATE SEP 05 - Made this again with Logan's Farm honey baked ham, and cheddar cheese on a a soft french roll. Due to sloppy placement on the panini grill, they were squished at an angle, and some of the ham made direct contact with the grill, and toasted along with the bread. What a wonderful mistake that turned out to be. YUM! Ugly sandwiches - but fabulous taste. I did brush the top and bottom outsides of the bread with a little butter, and that was delicious too. Great Friday night supper!
I love Panini sandwiches! And this one also lives up to my high expectations. It is a snap to put together, and I cooked these up on my george forman grill, so it only took a couple minutes until time to eat! I did spread on a little mustard with the mayo and it tasted great. Thanks for the quick weeknight dinner!
Fabulous! This was the first panini I made with my new panini maker that I got for Christmas. I used leftover Christmas spiral ham with one slice of cheddar and one slice of colby (because that's what I had on hand) and a little onion and mayonaise. For the bread, I used my homemade French bread (Easy French Bread (Extra Large)).
I used panini buns and did not toast it.It was very good and will make again. Thanks JellyQueen.
Fabulous recipe, very tasty and extremely easy. I also sprinkled with garlic chives. Thanks for sharing!
This is a great simple sandwich, it was simply fabulous. I would have expected to have this served to me at nice sandwich shoppe. Thanks for sharing this!!
Good simple recipe for a panini. I used black forest ham, whole wheat sourdough, organic heirloom tomatoes and a mix of sharp cheddar and goatmilk gouda. Lovely lunch! Very quick and easy on my George Foreman grill. It's hard to believe you can accomplish gourmet restaurant quality sandwiches so easily! Thanks for posting.
