I loved the taste of this coming off the grille yesterday. However trying to top the mayo mixture on the tomato didn't work very well. It kept sliding off. *s* So we just sliced the tomatos up and mixed them in with the mixture. Tasted good. Thanks for the recipe.

These grilled garlic tomatoes were absolutely wonderful. They turned out beautifully. Highly recommend this recipe.

These were excellent! What a delicious topping for tomatoes. Since it's January, I just popped the tomato halves in the oven and prepared them in that way - and they were soooooo good! I KNOW that we're going to add these to the grilling menu in the summer! I think this topping would also be good on zucchini halves or eggplant slices ... I have so many ideas for it. Very versatile, scrumptious, can't say enough good things about this dish. Thanks so much Lorac!!!

Update: This is probably one of the best recipes I have come across this summer! Some more suggestions!! Use vine ripen tomatoes; they seem to impart with a better flavor and hold up to grilling than the bigger, flesher tomatoes. Do away with the tin foil tray and use an small cookie sheet that can go directly on the bbq; it was a good idea but unless you can stablize the tin foil with another tray, it is very wobbly (we dropped a couple)!! I used the tray that came with my toaster oven. Make sure to use either a large garlic or 2 small ...and most definately seed the tomatoes!! June, 2010: We quite enjoyed this recipe. I only had Panko breadcrumbs on hand and I found that it worked very well. I would do this recipe again! Thanks for the posting!!

Another super easy recipe. Nice flavor but keep an eye on them while cooking. Ours went crispy on the top after only 12 minutes, but still excellent! Thanks for posting!

These are quite good. I had some large grape tomatoes and made them into appetizers. I also baked them in a 400 degee oven instead of the grill. I didn't have fresh garlic, but I used granulated and it turned out just fine. Thanks for posting!

OK, we made this tonight and didn't care for it. I suspicion it might have been partially because I used Miracle Whip instead of mayo (because I had it on hand). However, I really am not sure we would have liked it anyway--too "out there" for us. My DH says they tasted like tomatoes, and I felt that the Miracle Whip taste was overpowering with a weird texture. Thanks for the recipe--I just wish it would have worked for us. P.S. Remove the seeds from the tomatoes and shove the topping into the holes--that helps keep it on. I also molded the aluminum foil around them to help hold them upright.

Loved the flavor of these yummy tomatoes! Did have a problem with cooking them on the grill in that the tomato bottoms got hot and the topping slid off. Next time I will just make them in the oven or use indirect heat on the grill. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Shame on me for not reviewing these before! I tried these about two months ago and have literally made them countless numbers of times since and given the recipe to my family and friends (at their request after trying them). I'm actually now "known" for "my" tomatoes. I'd recommend this recipe to anyone!

There Great!!! We cut the tomatoes in thick slices and put the topping on. They are really good, and I am not big on eating tomates on their own. Thank You
