This is pretty good. I improvised with some of the spices and made it more of a Cayanne recipe which was amazing if you have the nerve.
Everyone enjoyed this recipe. I made it in a dutch oven for 50-60 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Only used at the most 1 cup of barbecue sauce. Very delicious!
These were fun to make and present, but the combo of bbq and carrots, esp. with the cajun, was just too much for me. I did some with different seasoning than cajun, and that wasn't as strange. I did LOVE how the chicken was SOOO tender cooked this way. I also put some red and green peppers on top of the onions, and it was a nice boost of color. I also like how everything cooks all at once. And if anyone was able to do this without burning the very bottom of the potatoes, I'd like to hear how to do that. Thanks.
The packets really do resemble big candy kisses! What a wonderful idea, and best of all they tasted as good as they looked. The cajun seasoning which we have become very fond of made for great taste. I used my homemade barbecue sauce from Gerry's Sauced Burgers which was great with the chicken breasts. Being a chilly weekend I made these in the oven and am really looking forward to doing these on the outdoor grill. So happy I found this recipe, thank you for sharing.
I made this last night. It is quick, simple and tastes great. You can add practically any combo of vegetables and still have a winner. I added half a cob of corn to each packet(eating the corn was a little messy tho). Next time I'm going to try a variety of red, green and yellow peppers. I did it in the oven at 375 degrees for 50 minutes with the "kisses" on a large cookie sheet. 5 stars definitely!
