Grilled Cheese With a Twist!

"I learned to make this in culinary class when I was in high school, and it is my favorite way to make a grilled cheese! I don't have the exact measurements, but its one of those recipes where you can easily adjust the measurements to your liking without ruining the recipe. I hope you enjoy!"

  1. I am a big onion fan, but thought this had too many raw onions in it (maybe it's the size of our onions?). Maybe if they were cooked a little first it wouldn't be so sharp. It was an interesting twist to a grilled cheese and one I might try again, either by reducing the amount of raw onion, or maybe cooking it for a bit first. We used rye bread with success. Thanks for posting.

  2. Totally yummy! I did more sour cream and grilled my onions before putting in the mix.

  3. Really good & simple.

  4. Wonderful sandwich. Love the addition of sour cream. Thanks for sharing. Made for Pick A Chef Spring 2009.

  5. I never would have thought to add sour cream to a grilled cheese but I'm glad I came across this variation - it was great! I added a bit of pepper jack cheese with the cheddar and used homemade pickled onions. Thanks for the great lunch!
