I learned to make this in culinary class when I was in high school, and it is my favorite way to make a grilled cheese! I don't have the exact measurements, but its one of those recipes where you can easily adjust the measurements to your liking without ruining the recipe. I hope you enjoy!

I am a big onion fan, but thought this had too many raw onions in it (maybe it's the size of our onions?). Maybe if they were cooked a little first it wouldn't be so sharp. It was an interesting twist to a grilled cheese and one I might try again, either by reducing the amount of raw onion, or maybe cooking it for a bit first. We used rye bread with success. - 2 slices bread, buttered with
- butter, on one side
- handful of shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1⁄2 of an onion, diced
