Greg's Reunion Dressing

"My cousin Greg made this for a quick salad at our last family reunion in Vail, Colorado. It was a hit! Although he is a brewmaster for a brewery in Chicago, I didn't know he also had a way with salads. The things you learn at family reunions! If the dressing is too thick, add two tablespoons water. By the way, the pear gives the dressing its sweetness."

  1. A very thick and clinging salad dressing. I'm thinking this would work well with whatever your favorite crumbly cheese is. I used half the gorgonzola and would like to try a champagne vinegar next time just to lighten the appearance of the dressing.

  2. I love balsamic vinegar and I love this dressing! The pears added a great sweetness.I used feta since I had it on hand. I would gladly eat this everyday. Roxygirl in Colorado

I love how cooking brings people together, whether it's sharing recipes or sharing a special meal. My sister and I love to talk recipes, and she is great at researching any recipe questions and hunting down recipes. My whole family enjoys cooking, so holidays are particularly fun when we're all cooking together. I teach social studies, and I incorporate historical recipes and foods into my lessons about culture. Cooking connects the past and present. I've realized how relaxing cooking is to me, so despite being very busy with teaching, I make time to cook.
