This recipe is an example of the one thing that really annoys me about 'zaar, that is that people publicly post untested recpies. I mean no offence at all to Tish as she was as helpful as she could be when I mailed her regarding clarification. I thought I would try the recipe anyway despite the measurements for the ingredients looking wrong and half of the ingredients not being mentioned in the instructions. I used a quarter of the amounts stated but still needed the same amount of water. I ended up with very dense heavy dumplings rather than light steamed buns. I know we all store untested recipes on here for safekeeping but can we not make them public until they have been tested (remember if you need help there is always the forums) I just worry that one of the less experienced cooks we have will buy the ingredients to make it (green tea powder especially is expensive) and will leave bad reviews. I know my last comment could be seen as double standards by some and again wish to say that Tish was very helpful and in no way should feel bad about posting this, but can we all have a minutes think before we click that "make public" link?
- 1000 g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 240 g water
- 3 teaspoons green tea powder (macha powder)
