Great recipe. I used four roasted and peeled hatch chilis and omitted the butter. The butter would have been good but it wasn't missing it if you used just the sour cream and cream in it. I also used red potatoes and left the skins on. I will make this again!
DH and I really loved these! The kids were not excited about them but that was ok with DH because he just warmed the leftovers in the microwave with a sprinkle of grated cheese. We'll make this again for the grownups ;) Thanks Engrossed!
MAde as directed and left out the salt. Went a bit hevier than some may ont he white pepper (personal taste) and used everything as listed. Delightful....just as they are. Not that you will eat a whole bowl - go ahead and have your 1/4 of these measurements here - no worries folks! Just a gerat flavor - I might even add a larger can or double the green chiles next time. YUM!
Nice change of pace! Used only 2 Tablespoons of butter because the 4 oz. (1 stick) called for is a lot. Also used half & half creamer instead of heavy cream. Next time I would leave out the cream all together as the sour cream provided enough moisture to mash and they were plenty flavorful even with the reduced fat & calories! The overall flavor has a little bit of tang and mild, mild spice. Try it!
What a nice way to dress up mashed potatoes! We love green chiles so this was guaranteed to please. I tinkered with it to lower the fat content - used low fat sour cream and fat-free half and half instead of cream. Served with grilled pork chops, this made for an easy tasty supper. Thanks for the idea!
i and my oldest child ate it right up but the other in my house did not like them much......i think if i used red potatos it would go over better at my house thanks for a nice change to potatos

Engrossed this was really tasty. Since I was also serving for my young daughters I left the green chillies from the mash and just topped Daves and mine. Served with lamb chops from the bbq. Definite make again. Thank you for posting.
