Really good side dish. I used baby portabellas and canned green beans and it worked out just great! Thanks for posting. Made for Rookie Recipe tag game.
I make my green beans using nearly the same recipe all the time. (I didn't know there was a recipe listed here for them.) I do use less butter & a little more chicken broth though. DH & I really love them. It is a nice change from plain old green beans.
We really enjoyed this recipe. I get so tired of the same old steamed beans with salt and pepper! I would like to try this with criminis, the shiitake were a bit too flavorful for DH. They were even better the next day! tanks.
wonderful taste, a little pepper was needed. My husband said he would prefer button mushrooms. Whatever! LOL!
I made this for Christmas. Everyone loved it, and they even fought over who was taking it home. Not that there was much to take home. It was a simple recipe to follow and made my house smell wonderful. I am making this again for New Year's.
This was made for guests tonight and I was informed at the dinner table that the 14 yr old son will not eat green beans. He took the courtesy spoon full and ended up scarfing 3 helpings!! If that isn't a testament to this recipe, I don't know what is. These are wonderful. I have often added mushrooms to peas or green beans but, wow, the chicken stock really adds a flavor punch. This is a keeper Thanks so much Lazyme.
OK, it's about time to admit it! Although I've never been any kind of fan of mushrooms [other than raw], I'm at least able to manage them cooked! This is a 5-STAR rating because the bean dish as a whole has a great taste [& I suppose...perhaps...it might be...maybe...just a little, because of the mushrooms!!! There, I said it!]. Thanks for posting it, & for twisting my arm ~ I'll be making it again!
