  • In a medium saucepan melt butter over medium heat; add in onion, garlic and thyme, stir for about 3 minutes.
  • Add in the rice and orzo; cook stirring for 3 minutes.
  • Add in the broth and lemon juice; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Add in black pepper, reduce the heat to low and simmer covered for about 20-22 minutes or until the liquid has absorbed.
  • Transfer to a serving dish then sprinkle the feta on top (if using).
  • Delicious!

  1. This was pretty good. I accidentally bought fat free feta, so blah on that. But it was the first time I have ever made a pilaf, which was exciting. :) I'm not usually a fan of thyme but it worked really well in this dish.

  3. I hate to only give a recipe 3 stars. Especially one of Kittencal's; but, truthfully I wouldn't make this dish again. It just didn't suit our tastebuds. My 8 & 6 year old ate it (w/ threat of no dessert if they didn't). My husband and I ate it. We didn't hate it; but, we just didn't love it. Sorry!!
