Greek Hamburgers

"Posted for ZWT - Greece. After we shaped the burgers we froze them with my food saver. DH put them frozen on the bbq and we had tasty burgers. The red wine and dijon gives a great taste."

  1. These were good and both DH and DS didn't complain so it was a win! Mine turned out a bit dry (even with all the added liquid) but I think it was because they turned out so thick. I did add a slice if swiss to mine and skipped the tomatoes. Made for ZWT-9.

  2. Great burgers! I really loved the Dijon in these too. Simple and flavorful. Thanks Boomette for a nice meal. Made by an Unruly Under the Influence for ZWT6.

  3. I love burgers! These were a little different, but, I enjoyed the flavorsome additions to the ground sirloin I used. I pan-fried these and caramelized onions for DH. He ate his without a bun, and I used a small piece of a garlic baguette. It is a nice addition to our usual burger fare. Thanks for sharing, Boomette. Made for ZWT.

  4. Husband gives these a raving five stars, despite my having ruined the carmelized onion in the last seconds. I had them perfectly done, turned off the burner and put the lid on to keep warm. Well, the knob was 1/16th-inch beyond "off". It went to "high" and I didn't realize it until I smelled them. So ANYWAY, he loved them with raw onions. They would have only been better with the cooked ones, so I guess that would have made it 5++ stars. :o) I used very lean beef; there was enough fat in the olive oil and fluid in the wine to make them brown nicely anyway. I didn't even have to spray the pan with Pam. I used ripe tomatoes, skipped the lettuce to save a few bucks, and bought the best burger buns I could fine. Thanks for giving him three great dinners. (Personally, I'm "meh" on burgers. I'd rather eat the vegetarian ones, so I am basing this on his reaction, not mine.) ZWT6

  5. Made 2 servings and subbed beef broth for the burgundy wine. I grilled them on my GF grill and let my onions fry slowly til carmelized in a separate pan. Served on grilled buns with Recipe #249148. What a tasty dinnner treat. Thanks for sharing the recipe Boomie! Made for Zwizzle Chicks for ZWT6.
