- 1 loaf white bread, dried
- 118.29 ml butter
- 226.79 g chicken liver
- 1 large onion
- 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 leaf celery (from 1 stalk celery)
- 226.79 g fresh mushrooms, chopped
- 4.92 ml garlic powder or 1 clove, minced
- 4.92 ml oregano
- 4.92 ml basil
- 0.25 ml cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 14.79 ml sage
directions
- Saute' chicken livers in butter; mash while cooking. Add onion, parsley, celery leaves, mushrooms; continue saute'ing. Add all spices except sage.
- Wet dried bread; squeeze out excess water. Place in large bowl; add egg and sage. Mix well. Add chicken liver mixture; cook slowly on top of stove until heated through (1/2 hr).

Love to cook and entertain! I love this site and have found so many great recipes...I am known for my Moussaka and Spanikopita; also love to bake. I come from a long line of ladies who love to make delicious food for their family. We are not Greek but my grandmother grew up with a Greek family who taught her their delicious recipes. She has passed them down to us, along with many other delectable family traditions. I once sent her recipe for stuffing into the paper, who was publishing the best stuffing recipes; they selected hers out of hundreds of entries and only published eight!
