Great Hamburgers

"These hamburgers are wonderful and a step above just regular hamburgers! My sister got this recipe from her mother-in-law and I make these whenever I'm in the mood for some great-tasting, juicy hamburgers! (Works great in George Foreman grills.)"

  1. Delicious burger. The bit of evaporated milk I think, makes a difference. I used a Jalopeno pepper for the green pepper and whole wheat soda crackers for the crumbs. I cut the recipe back to 1 burger with no problem. Topped it off with Walla Walla onion slices , tomato, lettuce & cheese- Lovely Saturday night burger!

  2. These hamburgers were very moist but plain.

  3. As previously stated, these burgers cook up really well on an outdoor grill and they do not fall apart as one might think from the recipe. I omitted the green peppers and used Town House crackers. The onions in this recipe do not cook up as much as with other burger recipes that includes the onions being cooked with the meat, which is another plus as is the very moist outcome of the burgers. (I so dislike dry burgers!). They were a bit sticky, but not so much that they couldn't be handled easily. I found this recipe to be easy, inexpensive and absolutely wonderful in flavor. Have made them several times now and will continue to use this recipe when I'm in the mood for burgers. Thanks for sharing this recipe, wyzgirl14, it is a keeper.

  4. These are great! I was surprised such an easy recipe came out so yummy!!

  5. Very moist burgers that cooked up well on the grill. Only complaints were that my family (especially the kids) did not care for the taste of the green peppers and that the patties were tough to make, given how sticky the milk made the ground beef mixture.

Tweaks

  1. These were awesome! Used shallots instead of onions and didn't have green peppers, but we can't believe how tasty and juicy the burger was! For sure a recipe to keep.
