This was my Great Grandmother from Sicily's recipe of course she made her own pasta though! It is a family recipe that I think needs to be out there I hope you enjoy!

  1. Brown first four ingredients.
  2. Add tomato sauce.
  3. Mix all ingredients for the filling in a separate bowl.
  4. Alternate layers: Sauce, noodles, filling.
  5. End with noodles top with sauce and cover with Mozzarella.
  6. Cover with foil sprayed with cooking spray.
  7. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.

Very tasty. Used a 9x13 pan (started with noddles on the bottom) but the lasagna didn't quite take up all the space. I also used about 2/3 cup of ricotta--when you go to the grocery store, get the small container. I also used two 28-oz jars of tomato sauce--I ran out of sauce with meat for the top so I just poured a whole new jar of plain sauce over it. Oh, and I forgot the egg in the filling mixture, but it didn't seem to matter; I also baked it without the foil, which also didn't seem to matter (probably because I had the extra tomato sauce). Make sure you leave out some mozzarella for topping--it's not in the ingredients list and I almost forgot about it. Thanks for posting!
