Tasty and different salad. I enjoyed this unique combination of ingredients and felt it made a lovely presentation with the colorful chunks of grapefruit and avocado. This was a hard sell though to the rest of the family, who felt the dressing was too tangy. I felt the dressing needed a more robust flavor - perhaps additional herbs & seasonings would do the trick. Still, a very tasty, tart salad for grapefruit fans. The nuts were an especially nice touch.people found this review Helpful. You can only vote others' reviews helpful or not helpful... This is remarkably similar to Alice Waters' salad from her fruit cookbook, and I absolutely love it! The main differences are it uses champagne vinegar instead of the lime, specifies 2 tablespoons of the grapefruit juice go into the dressing, and you marinate the onions in the dressing first. I have even used regular onions as well. I have not tried it with the almonds, but that sounds like it would be really good too, These flavors sing together!people found this review Helpful. Yummm!!! This is great!! I have had this type salad before but never with the almonds, they make it sing!!! This salad is light, refreshing and just plain good!!! I served it with Sour Cream Beef Enchiladas and it served as a wonderful balance to the meal! Thanks for posting!!people found this review Helpful.
