This is very good. I also only made half the recipe and that is plenty for now. I omitted the salt completely from the wet ingredients and added 1/4 cup of brown sugar (so I would recommend at least an extra half cup of sugar in the full recipe). Additionally, I substituted applesauce for half the oil called for, substituted ground flax seed for wheat germ, and mixed in craisins and pecans to the final mix. This is not a crunchy granola, at least not the way I made it, and it is not overly sweet. My kids will eat it warmed up with milk (cereal) and I"m sure they'll add more sugar. It is delicious and I absolutely love it! My first attempt at granola and the last change I'll make is to add more dried fruit. I'm very eager to add even more goodness!

Directions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
  2. Mix liquid ingredients together.
  3. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients.
  4. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Spread on 2 greased cookie sheets and bake for 1 hour @ 250°.
  6. Stir occasionally.
