Loved the flavor of this cookie. I was a little hesitate of the 2 T. vanilla but it tasted great. This is my new sugar cookie recipe. Thanks.

Hi, I recently used this recipe for my daughter's birthday party. We cut out dog bone shapes and decorated them with paw prints. They were a HUGE success. Does anyone know if you can freeze this dough ahead of time. We're thinking about doing it for my son's class party but it's a few days after Memorial Day and I wanted toi get ahead Thanks, Sherry

This recipe is everything everyone says it is! This is the one I will use FOREVER now! I really love the frosting too. My daughter and I made leaf shaped cookies for her to take to school. I rolled them slightly thicker than 1/4 inch. I ended up with 45 cookies. I doubled the frosting recipe and had just enough frosting. I have to update this. I have been making these cookies for 3 years now. My daughter is famous at her school for them. I have teachers requesting them from her for holidays. We decorate them with m&ms and they are even better that way!

I always make these during any holiday. I double the recipe and roll them in sugar and flatten them. I give these to my teachers and they all love them. So do my friends and family. Definitely the best sugar cookies ever!!!

This recipe worked out perfectly for my Jumbo Heart cut-out cookies! I cut the recipe down to 1/3 by using a little less then 1 egg, I used baking powder in place of the cream of tartar and a little almond extract mixed with the vanilla. I was able to get five 5-inch heart cookies out of this, plus some scraps to nibble on. For the frosting I just used powdered sugar mixed with milk and some food coloring.
