Granny's Chocolate for Biscuits

"When I was little (7-10) I had a best friend that I loved to spend the night with. She and I would sleep over at her grandmother's house and we would BEG her to make us "chocolate biscuits". Her grandmother would get up before the sun came up and make homemade biscuits then cut them open spread on a little butter and drizzle on this syrup. We would eat until we just couldn't force another bite. Now that I am grown it's much too sweet for me, but when I make it for my child and his friends it brings it all back..."

directions

  • In a small sauce pan heat sugar, milk and cocoa powder to boil.
  • Allow to boil only for a minute or two to combine all ingrediants. (wisk constantly to avoid scorching).
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add butter and vanilla
  • Pour over buttered homemade biscuits and enjoy.
  • NOTES: The longer you allow the mix to boil in step one the thicker it will be, so if you want it thicker leave it on a bit longer. When I was a kid it was served thin so that's how I make it.
