Grandpa's Cheese Spread

I grew up eating this on toast, bread, crackers. I love love love it. It takes quite a while to mix up but so worth it. I have made this but don't know how much exactly it makes <Yikes> Sorry.


  1. Make sure that the cheese is cold as this makes it much easier to mix and won't get stuck in the blades.
  2. Mix all ingredients really well and store in a jar.
  3. Refrigerate before serving.

I just had to rate this recipe. I grew up watching my mother eat this spread and later my older sister always made it also. Later I found out that this was my Grandpa Mitchell's recipe!! I am smiling at the thought that someone else's grandfather loved this recipe too. It is SO good!! My kids fight over it! My family always makes it with a combination of swiss cheese and mild or sharp longhorn cheese, 1 small jar of pimento (with the juice) and enough mayo to moisten. Yum! So easy and tasty. I added drained green chilies and some hot sauce. I cut back the sugar to 1 teaspoon, everyone loved it

I had a small piece of sharp cheddar and a few Tbs. of pimento left from making a Thanksgiving cheese ball . I grated the cheese , threw in the pimento , added about a teaspoon of sugar and a couple of spoons of Miracle Whip and WOW is it good !! This stuff could be dangerously addictive LOL !! Lots of uses come to mind ~~~ fill celery sticks , spread on toast or crackers , on bagels , broil on french bread , sndwiches for lunch !!! YUMMY stuff ! Thanks for sharing !!
