Enjoy the old standby nighttime drink promoting restful slumber. Milk contains a protein alpha-lactalbumin, rich in tryptophan, that tells the brain to sleep. Plus you wake up feeling rested the next morning, without the side effects that often come with sleep-inducing drugs.
- Add honey to milk and warm in the microwave.
- Remove and stir in vanilla.
- Enjoy and then slumber off to bed!
I love hot milk and honey... add in vanilla and I'm in heaven... I used organic 2% milk, raw honey and my homemade vanilla extract... Tastes so good and I slept so well... LOL Must be the alcohol in the vanilla extract!!! Can't wait until it's cooler so I can curl up with a mug of this yummy drink in front of our fireplace!!!
I have been drinking this for years (thanks to Grandma!), as a way of getting to sleep when my mind is racing. I typically do not add vanilla, but it has a nice taste when added!
I been looking for something to help me sleep at night instead always having my meds. I rather use them when I have to. The drink yummy and I will have it again.
