This recipe was truly scrumptious. My husband kept groaning in delight in between bites. I substituted a can of evaporated milk because we had no milk in the fridge and I used my own aged San Fran sour dough starter. Thanks so much to you and Gran...this one will become a regular in our kitchen!

I have never had sourdough pancakes until now. These are top notch excellent cakes. I can't use a lot of sweeteners or fats due to health reasons so I eat my cakes plain. Now I have a better reason. These are so darn good they don't need anything. God bless your grandmother and you for sharing this

Wonderful, moist pancakes. When I made these, I was unsure whether the reference in the instructions as to removing one cup of starter was meant to be done before or after the first addition of ingredients. I simply used the whole bowl in the final recipe(I had already set aside some of my original starter). Was this correct? Even if I wasn't strictly following the recipe, they were still really delicious!

These are without a doubt the best sourdough pancakes I have ever made. The recipe I used had some slight variations but it is basically the same recipe; i.e., a little more flour, sugar and butter. I did cut up a ripe banana and stir in along with 1/3 cup chopped pecans. These were served with some warmed maple syrup for a wonderful Saturday breakfast. I can see these being made with fresh blueberries.

Just perfect! According to my DW, these tasted exactly like her grandma's sourdough pancakes. My kids had never had them before, an I thought they were going to pop before they stopped eating them. These are thin enough, that my DD like to fill them with favorite jam and roll them up. Thanks for the recipe that restored one of my DW favorite breakfasts.
