Grandma's Jello Salad

"When ever I serve this dish I get rave reviews. My grandma used to make this for our holiday meals; it was the only thing that NEVER had leftovers. When most people hear the ingredients. they are often skeptical until they try it. So far it has won over everyone that has tried it. It is so simple to make that you can have it any night. Prep time is time to combine items and cook time is time to chill. Servings are approx."

  1. This was super easy to make and tasted DELICIOUS! In fact, it was so good, I'm serving it at a wedding rehearsal dinner I'm catering. It is so cool and refreshing. It's perfect for dessert, but I'm using it on the appetizer station, as it's so light and yummy! This is going in my "favorite recipes" file, and I'm sure it will be my new "go-to" when I need something fast, easy and delicious!

  2. Oh... does this take me back! My grandma made this same recipe -- I swear, it is identical to hers. The only thing that puzzles me is the amount of Jello listed -- 1/2 ounce. I've never seen a box of Jello that small! I used one 3 ounce box and it came out perfect! I used Dole Tropical Fruit and garnished it with Mandarin oranges, walnut pieces and fresh lime zest. How beautiful! What a light, creamy breakfast this made this morning! Yum! Made for PAC Spring 2010.

I love to cook my mom is a wonderful cook who I often tell she should open her own restaurant and her biggest pet peeve is also my own STAY OUT OF MY KITCHEN UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN SERVED OR CALLED!!! I have a half mastiff half pit bull puppy who is my baby, I have no children and therefor spoil my dog. I am single and find that cooking fills the empty boring hours on Friday and Saturday nights. I have just moved to Tacoma Washington area from Idaho and have not found any friends whom I can experiment with my cooking on often my " recipes" are measured as some of this a little that or a pinch here or there making reproducing a dish very difficult so finding this web sight was a blessing in disguise now I can find the dishes I "accidentally" created and can make them again and again
