Brown hamburger and onion in a large skillet. Add salt and pepper. Add beans and cottage cheese. Mix well and put in a greased casserole dish. Cover top with crackers and pats of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until top is brown.

I love the ease of this dish and it was a one pan clean up for me as I use my dutch oven. You could add so many different seasonings to this. Since I'm a garlic lover that is what I'll add next time. All the daycare kids loved this. Made for ZWT III 2007 - United States Region

Definitely a comfort "Gramma" food. So easy and I loved the cracker topping. I added some worcestershire sauce for a little extra flavor. After baking (and taking photos), I added a little cheese and mixed it all up..... Mmmm! I'll make this again. Thanx for sharing.

Made for ZWT and we really enjoyed it - I added peas and corn as I had no green beans but this is such a versatile dish you could just add any veg that you had on hand and it would still taste great !!
