  1. Made this recipe last night for our church home group and everyone enjoyed it. I added golden raisins and it was a hit. However, my diabetic husband had half of one and this proved to be not a great dessert choice for him. I will probably have to alter the recipe more in the future to make it more diabetic friendly. I put my walnut halves and granny smith apple wedges in my Ninja on pulse for less than 10 seconds and they were perfect to spread on the batter, then sprinkled the raisins over all. Next time I'll take a picture.

  2. I made these today & they were easy to whip up, moist & chewy!! I used butter flavored crisco, instead of butter. I added raisins, 1 finely chopped granny smith apple, chopped walnuts, 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. I mixed everything into the batter. They only take 10 minutes in the oven. What could be easier!! Thank you so........much for the recipe!!! I plan to bake these all of the time. DELICIOUS!!

  3. I recently made these oatmeal apple bars as a pre-hike breakfast and they were perfect! I have made them two more times since then. The 2nd time I mixed about 2/3 of the apples & walnuts into the actual dough and put the remainder on top. We liked that better. They are very soft, but are delicious! They did become quite gooey while hiking in hot weather. My boyfriend can't get enough. Thanks for sharing! This recipe is a keeper.
