Wonderful when used on a yellow cake but I'm sure chocolate would be great as well!
Make and share this Grandma's Caramel Frosting recipe from Food.com.
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1⁄2 cup margarine
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Combine brown sugar, milk, and butter; bring to a full boil and cook for exactly 2 minutes. Remove from heat; add baking powder and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.
This was a wonderful icing! It was a snap to make and thickened right up. The only change I made was to use evaporated milk instead of regular milk, since I only had 1%. I will definitely be making this again soon.
