  1. Rich!! These yummy scones are light, fluffy and so very rich. I made as written cutting the recipe down to make only 3 scones and still got 5 big scones sprinkled a little granulated sugar over the top just before baking. Thanks for the Great scone recipe.

  2. The good news is these are delicious but the bad news is I had a difficult time getting the dough moist enough to knead-having to add another egg and more sour cream. This could be my fault due to the variances in flours hence the five star review. A small amount of solid coconut oil replaced butter. Half the batch was shaped into scones and the other half shaped into a round and baked in a cast iron skillet. Yum! 5 stars for taste! Served with homemade strawberry jam and more butter! Made for Best of 2012.

  3. Wow, these were by far the best scones, that have ever touched my lips. They were awesome, I think I'm in heaven. The flavor and texture are spot on. Rich and decadent, just the way I like em. Seriously so good and very quick and easy to make. Behold a new family favorite which is going into my Favorites Cookbook for 2012. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants a very special treat. Beautiful served with soft sweet butter, clotted cream and blackberry jam. They are equally as wonderful toasted. I also enjoyed them for lunch served with fresh sliced spiral ham. Thanks for sharing another winner Annacia.

  4. I add a tsp of almond flavoring to the wet ingredients and change the raisins to dried cherries and add a 1/2 cup of pecans. Hubby loves them. Since it's just he and I, and since I am always dieting I cut the recipe in half so I don't eat so many. They are so good.

  5. I used the food processor to mix the dry ingredients and to cut in the butter. Then I put in a large bowl and followed the recipe. I used a little bit of raisins and probably 3/4 cup of dried cranberries (that I soaked with the raisins in the water). These scones are so yummy. Thanks Annacia :) Made for PRMR tag game
