Wow Tom, this IS a great recipe for German Potato Salad! I didn't even expect it to be as good as it is, but the bacony flavor is just wonderful, I love the dressing. I did add 1/2 cup of diced celery for crunch, and 1/2 dozen chopped eggs and it was perfect for us. It was really good without the celery and eggs, this is just my family's preferences. Thank-you for the Excellent recipe! We Will be making this one again!
Wow a great recipe for German Potato Salad. I tryed many a recipe and this one is the best I have ever had.
I only wanted to make a small bowlful, so I did it with a pound of baby reds. It was really tasty & my husband wants it again tomorrow. Very simple to make also.
WOW! I made this potato salad for a Mothers' Day cookout and my family is VERY picky, so I was nervous. Everyone loved and we even had a skirmish over the last serving. I wouldn't change a thing! Great Recipe!!!!
This is a fantastic recipe that I have used several times, most recently for a graduation party luncheon. Everyone raves about it's wonderful flavor, everytime I make it!
Sorry - I found the recipe a little hard to follow - Do you put the vinegar mixture on the cooked potato and let it sit for 1 hour or do you add the vinegar mixture to the half and half? I was just looking at step 9 where it said do not boil as it will boil out the vinegar. I ended up with big chunks of sour milk for my dressing!
WOW! I love this. I have some dietary restrictions so I went ahead and mashed the potatoes and pureed the bacon and it was still REALLY good. Thanks for posting this!
