This is nice & flaky and works every time.
- 1⁄4 cup boiling water
- 3⁄4 cup crisco vegetable shortening
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 cups flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl & mix together. Divide into two crusts. You can use, refrigerate or freeze them. Enjoy!
For someone like me, who loves to cook...it's always been frustrating that a "chilled" pie crust wouldn't turn out exactly like I wanted it to! This recipe is a lifesaver, and though skeptical at first....It will be my "pie-stand by" from now on! Served it tonight for guests...they loved it...(the sweet potato filling was a hit too!" try it...you too may become a beliver. :)
This is absolutely the best. Unlike my mother I never could make pie crust, but thanks to your recipe I made 5 apple pies in no time flat and they turned out perfect. Thank you ever so much for the great recipe. Sassy
