I have made this loaf for many years! I use margarine or butter to replace the Crisco, I like this recipe because I usually have the ingredients on hand and it is quick and easy and very tasty! It smells so good as it bakes in the oven!

  1. Cream the shortening, sugar, until well combined, add the eggs, then dry and wet ingredients.
  2. Combine the batter well.
  3. Combine the brown sugar, and cinnamon and set aside.
  4. In your greased and floured baking loaf pan, place half the batter evenly, sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture over that and cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle all the remaining sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly over the top.
  5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for one hour.
