My husband and 2 teens rated this one of the worst all-time meals I've ever put together. Sorry to have put in the time and cost of ingredients. Baking took much longer than recipe called for. Now, what to do with the leftovers?!

Thanks for sharing. I make something similar to this only I like medium egg noodles in this instead of rice. I'll have to try it with rice now as well. Oh, I also used canned diced tomatoes instead of sauce. Thanks again.

My mother used to make this same recipe for us when I was very young. She called it "One Dish Meal". It was easy for a busy working mother to make and we always enjoyed it. I think I'll make it for dinner. :)

What a fine tasting hotdish your Grandma put together. All my little ones loved it but then they are use to me making casseroles. The onion and potato combination worked well in the recipe. I sliced everything 1/8" thick using my Oxo mandolin slicer. I heated my oven up to 400 degrees because I was using a Pamper Chef stone baking pan and it took the full hour to get everything cooked. Thank you for post this healthy recipe, no oil, no canned soups and no cheese. I'll be making this often. Made for *New Kids On The Block 2009* game
