Gourmet 1, 2, 3 Biscuit

"Upon waking one morning my very first thought, before the quick little trip, must have come from above; "add wine to the biscuit recipe." I wasn't even thinking about breakfast, biscuits or anything other than that quick little trip! I have made and enjoyed many others' biscuit recipes but this is our favorite; so simple and definitely a pleaser!"

  • Follow the recipe on the Bisquick box making the following changes. Although milk can be used, try this: replace with water then take out 1 Tbl. of water (or milk if used) and add 1 Tbl. wine*.
  • The wine* makes it like homemade, yeast bread! It has become a must in many of my recipes.
  • If you have another recipe you've been used to making, try it substituting 1 Tbl. wine* for 1 Tbl. other liquid.
  • *NOTE: I prefer Black Tower wine for cooking but in a pinch have used another dry white wine; always promising myself next time to keep BT in supply!

Although born in California I grew up in Texas and always will have it in my heart. My kids returned there and planted their roots and their families. My present husband and I moved to his native Florida in 1983. It too is very beautiful and I can enjoy my hobbies. I love fishing (off our dock or our boat) and working in my flowers, creating smiles for all! I love painting and become quite absorbed during winter months when the flowers are not so abundant. I've always loved cooking, especially for big groups. Now it's just my husband & I and it is a challenge to continue to be creative. I collect cookbooks and love reading through them. Some I follow, but usually it's more to see what others have put together! We invite family often and try to throw parties a couple of times a year for family and friends and enjoy throwing everything and the kitchen sink for them to sample!! I assist my husband with his grilling by seasoning and adding the finishing touches, as well as all the "trivia" as he calls anything he isn't grilling. :) Pet peeves? They only exist until I give them a suggestion and usually they become another smile !!
