This is a simple recipe that everybody will love for game night!! Quick and easy to make!!

This was pretty good flavor wise. I added more cheese than stated. However, it does make a very large empanada, and I think I would like to play around making this into smaller pies. Thanks!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 (425 g) packageready-to-use refrigerated pie crusts (2 crust)
  • 1 cup kraft tex-mex light cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.
  2. Brown meat in large skilllet; drain. Stir in salsa; remove form heat,.
  3. Place 1 crust on baking sheet; top with meat mixture, spreading to within 1-inch of edge. Cover with cheese and remaining crust; seal edges with fork.
  4. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before cutting into wedges to serve.
  5. SUBSTITUTE: Substitute Tex-Mex for Mozzarella shredded cheese.
  6. SPECIAL EXTRA: Top with 1 small chopped tomato and 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro just before serving. Serve with a mixed green salad.
