SO yummy.... the only thing I did just a bit differently was to add the garlic powder to the olive oil before I brushed it on the bread. The entire loaf was gone in an instant and my 2-1/2 year old twin granddaughers ate a ton! I think we have just found our favorite ever garlic bread!

GREAT TASTING BREAD! I did mince a clove of garlic & added it to the olive oil, while including all the other ingredients! Certainly could do it up another way, but I did enjoy the cheesy center layer here! Thanks for a keeper of a recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Zaar Stars Tag Game]

This recipe is great but could be even better with fresh garlic. Next time I'll use finely chopped garlic. Cause with the garlic powder the taste was very hard to taste. But the cheese and the bread were great. I used small ciabatta bread. They were moist and crispy outside. yum! Thanks Bonnette :) Made for PAC spring 2011

Yum!! So easy to put together and so cheesy. Though I had to use some cheddar, as I was out of the mozzarella I thought I had. But that was okay, because it was still great! Thanks :)

We thought this bread was delicious! It had just the right amount of cheese and garlic for us. Thanks for posting!

We liked this bread but were a bit dissapointed that the garlic flavour did not come out more (maybe some crushed/minced fresh garlic would do this) - will try again as I feel it has more potential. Thank you bmcnichol for sharing. Made for 123 Hit Wonders. UPDATE - put 2 teaspoons of freshly minced garlic for the garlic powder and so much more enjoyed.

Pretty good....and couldn't be easier. I used a little more cheese since my loaf of bread was huge. Mine also took about 5 minutes longer for all of the cheese to melt. My almost 4 year old didn't like how "crunchy" the bread got. It does crisp it up quite a bit. Next time I may make two halves instead of closing it like a sandwich, since it seemed like all the cheese was stuck in a "layer" in the middle. Thanks for posting, will make again for sure!

This is a very tasty and easy-to-make garlic bread recipe. I will probably use a little more cheese next time, but overall we really enjoyed this!

Wow! This is awesome!! I used The Ultimate French Bread for the bread. I also used butter instead of olive oil (1/4 cup melted) and added some parmesan and Italian seasoning. Rave reviews all around the house last night! Thanks, BMCNichol!

Delicous bread! Very easy to make. The only change I made was I sprinkled parsley on top of the cheese. I didn't measure my cheese either, but I know I went over 1 cup because DH loves cheese bread! This went together very quickly and baked up as I finished off the rest of supper. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

We loved this bread. I cut back on the cheese just a tad, but it was still VERY good. I had to bake it about 5 minutes longer than the recipe stated, but that could just be the difference in oven temps. Thanks for another great recipe, bmcnichol!
