Good Times Sangria

"Always made White Sangria and wanted to try a red version to go with our favorite Cuban inspired dinner. Decided a get together with my brother and cousins would be the perfect time to taste test. Everyone agreed it was a keeper! Cheers Lana, Ron and Rick!"

directions

  • Use a clear glass pitcher for pretty presentation. Make the ice cubes up ahead and freeze in containers to have on hand for summer drinks. Pour the wine in the pitcher, add Brandy, cut up fruit. If your going to add sugar do it before you add the fruit and stir till dissolved. Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours before plan to serve. To serve place some of the fruit in glasses along with prepared ice cubes. Pour in Sangria. I place small bottles chilled Seltzer on the table so each person can adjust the strength to their preference. Keeps up to 2-3 days refrigerated and the fruit is delicious to eat.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

Married 31 years. Live in rural area with one old mare and a small herd of Nubian dairy goats. I love cooking old favorites and trying new recipes. Mostly now just cooking for two but still host large groups several times a year. I've collected cookbooks for years when traveling. I have all my Mom and Mother in Laws cookbooks also. I try and write in my cookbooks any changes, when first tried and any other info that my daughter might enjoy later. Alot of my favorite moments center around food, holiday preparation and family time through the years. Recently my daughter has become interested in cooking more and I enjoy her new recipes and creations. My husband doesn't cook but helps in prep as directed and is the man for kitchen clean up.
